The Health Promotion Group is a group of professionals interested in improving the public health of Gibraltar. The Group was formed in 1997 by the Minister for Health and current members include the Education Department, the Environmental Health Agency, the Gibraltar Health Authority and others.
The purpose of the Group is to improve people's health and aim for a healthy community by enhancing public awareness, supporting health professionals and promoting healthy policy. The Group has continued to meet on a monthly basis for over ten years and has been the driving force behind most health promotion initiatives.
The actual delivery of all campaigns, events, initiatives and professional support is the responsibility of the Health Promotion wing of the Public Health Department. Working to the Director of Public Health, the (currently) lone Health Promotion Officer carries out all these functions.
The main office is situated at the Public Health Department at St. Bernard's Hospital.
